At a fundamental level, our commitment to corporate social responsibility involves going beyond looking solely at how to make the most money, to include a wider commitment to building a better society.
At KJG we believe that businesses have a role to play in making the world a better place. Our commitment to our communities is one of our core values, and we embrace our corporate citizenship through many activities.
Our charitable activities help us realise our potential and expose us to different life skills, world views and help us to play a key role in the ever-changing and constantly evolving global challenges.
What We’re Doing In 2020
In 2020 we’ll once again be taking part in the Great Manchester Run in aid of Forever Manchester. The run takes part on the 24th May but our donation page is open already, click HERE if you’d like to support us.
In addition this year we’ll also be pushing ourselves to complete the National 3 Peaks Challenge on the weekend of the 13th June. Our target is to raise over £10,000 for our chosen charity.
We Sponsored the Forever Manchester Shirts at the Great Manchester Run
KJG were the shirt sponsor for the Forever Manchester runners at the 2018 and 2019 Manchester 10k.
Our runners over the years have included 4 of our 6 partners and over 30 different members of staff.
The team from KJG raised over £4,000 for Forever Manchester.
One Of Our Partners Took Part In The Y Factor
A group of 10 performers sang their hearts out to raise much needed money for the Mancunian Way, a local charity which secures employment opportunities to homeless people so they can improve their lives. The event raised over £56k for charity.
The performers included KJG’s very own Corporate Finance Partner, Steven Lindsay who is to singing, what haggis is to vegetarianism!
We Went Skydiving for Forever Manchester and Manchester Mind
In 2017 our team chose to take on Skydiving in aid of two charities, Forever Manchester and Manchester Mind. This was a big one so we set ourselves a massive target of £10,000, we smashed it raising over £11,000 for the two charities.
Jumping from 11,000 feet, the 16 strong team included 3 of our partners.
We Took on Tough Mudder North West
The firms partners along with 15 members of staff took part in Tough Mudder North West, together with the support of our clients, friend and families we raised over £6,500 for the Royal Manchester Childrens’ Hospital.
The day was great, the challenge beyond difficult, but well worth it in the end.
We’d like to say a massive thank-you to everyone that supported us in this challenge, we really couldn’t have done it without all of your support!
We Helped Out at Wood Street Mission in Manchester
Wood Street Mission is a registered children’s charity based in the centre of Manchester. They help children and families living in Manchester and Salford with everyday items most take for granted.
All the families Wood Street Mission support are affected by poverty.
The KJG staff volunteered a day of their time to help Wood Street Mission to sort bags of donated clothes and books. In total the team sorted more than 400 bags!
We Tackled White Water Rafting for Bolton Lads and Girls Club
Bolton Lads and Girls club was established over 120 years ago, the club was one of the first organisations in the North West to recognise the importance of providing young people with a safe haven to spend their free time.
Now, they are one of the biggest youth centres in the UK, welcoming young people aged 8-19 years-old, and up to 21 years-old for young adults with disabilities.
The team at KJG were asked by the club to take on White Water Rafting in Llangollen, North Wales. They endured grade 2 and 4 whitewater as they covered 3kms of continuous rapids including the famous Serpents Tail and Town Falls!
The teams were split between our Insolvency and Accountants departments, insolvency won but the accountants are already planning their revenge.
We set ourselves a target of £500 to raise for the charity, we achieved £802.50.
We Support Forever Manchester
